1. NMAP




Nmap (“Network Mapper”) is a free and open source (license) utility for network discovery and security auditing. John the Ripper is a fast password cracker, currently available for many flavors of Unix, Windows, DOS, BeOS, and OpenVMS. Its primary purpose is to detect weak Unix passwords. Kismet is an 802.11 layer2 wireless network detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system.
